Well as of now, all news has been good since the initial finding of a CWD infected deer in Kent County, Michigan. The infected deer was in a captive breeding facility, which was consequently depopulated and had each deer tested.
I’m happy to report that there were no more deer in the facility found with CWD! Officials also tested four deer that had been recently transported from these breeding center to other farms, and these all tested negative as well. So, as for now, the CWD scare seems to be a little less worrisome. Testing is continuing on deer in the surrounding area, so hopefully future results will continue to return negative.
