It’s official! Almost. There is a new non-typical state record in Illinois. Chris Kiernan’s 37 point buck has finally passed the 60 day drying period and measured out to be 268 1/8 inches! It won’t be “official” until a Boone & Crockett panel comes out and measures it, but it’s safe to say the numbers should stand. Also of interest is that Chris Kiernan is a pro staff member for Elite Archery. Talk about some great pub for Elite!

Yes a potential record, if he shot it legally!
Chris Kiernan, a pro-staffer for a major archery equipment manufacturer, was charged in Grundy County (IL) Circuit Court Oct. 28 with multiple hunting violations in a 41-count criminal complaint, including illegally taking a 36-point whitetail buck in 2009 that was expected to become the new Illinois non-typical whitetail bow record.
A guy like this is a disgrace to the hunting industry, and he is on a pro staff? What a joke!

The VP of sales and marketing for Elite(Garret Armstrong) was also charged with multiple poaching violations in the same case. Nice marketing strategy, huh?
