Contrary to what a lot of guys think, the “TV show” hunters often don’t have it any easier than the rest of us. And Skyler Wirsig, of Heartland Bowhunter, certainly has endured a season that many of us can relate to. Highs and lows, ups and downs and many returns home empty handed. But as we all must learn to do, Skyler kept on pushing hard into December and his work finally paid off in the long run.
After not punching a tag in Missouri or Kansas on a buck or doe this entire season, Skyler was finally able to connect this weekend on this nice big 6 that the land owner wanted out of the herd! Although this isn’t the biggest deer Skyler has killed, I know it means an awful lot to him.
I think it’s safe to say that no matter who you are or where you hunt, success rarely comes easily. But it comes most often, and some times in the last hour, to those that work the hardest. Congrats again to Skyler, keep up the good work!
