Often we hunters are confronted by those unfamiliar with what we do. Questions arise such as “Why do you hunt?”, “How can you justify killing an animal?” and many, many more. So how do we respond?
Obviously this varies from person to person, but I’ve found for me I can best answer these questions with references to the circle of life, actionable conservation, tradition and a deep, almost spiritual connection to my prey and nature. That being said, when I recently ran across Steven Rinella’s explanation of his views on conservation as a hunter, I immediately connected. Check out this video, as I imagine his articulation of this topic will reflect many of your views as well. And I’d encourage you to share it with others as well, especially those that don’t quite get what we’re all about.
