Could it be? I’ve been on the hunt for a Michigan Booner for a while now, but over my 23 years I’ve yet to get eyes on one. But could that have changed on the day before my 24th year begins?

Tonight while scouting the properties surrounding my new farm, my bud Dustin and I edged along a nearby bean field at last light with high hopes. On the right hand side was the field I spotted 3 really nice shooters last night, and to my right was another massive bean field. Upon first glance the field was empty, but I thought I saw a strange color four or five hundred yards out. Luckily my curiousity was peaked and I pulled up the binocs. It was a buck. A big one.

Once I realized what I was looking at, I pulled up my camera and filmed as best I could. Being so far out, my video camera just couldn’t get a great image. But I at least could see the frame and overall size of this giant deer. To make the deal even sweeter, another monster buck came running up along side. As we watched the bucks out in the field, I mumbeled a phrase I never thought I’d hear myself say…

“Is that a Michigan booner?”

I know it’s hard to tell from this screenshot, but just from the frame, what do you think? Could he be a Michigan booner?
