It’s been an exciting couple days as I’ve slowly watched a dream become reality. What was once a spot marked on a map, is now a perfectly cleared and tilled half acre opening, just waiting to be planted with a whitetail buffet. It took some hard work, helpful friends and a little bit of luck, but we’re just about done. After spraying and brushhogging the opening, we had to come back in tonight and actually burn it down. Once that was done we brought in the rototill and tore it up. What’s left now is a beautiful sight.
Tomorrow I’ll plant my Whitetail Institute Turnips and Winter Greens and then we’ll wait and watch. Plan is to finish the plot, put up a stand nearby and then stay the heck away for the next month… Then it’s killin time.
