As you read this article I am in a treestand.  Lucky me.  Today’s hunt is different though.  I have this other guy with me and he keeps pointing a video camera at me.

Wait.  What?

Hunting in front of a camera?  For real?  Me?  That’s weird.

You may be fooled into thinking that, because I write for Wired To Hunt or have my own hunting website, that I am some sort of special guy…a distinguished hunter…a big buck killing machine.

The truth is, I’m just like you.  (Well unless you are a distinguished hunter or a monster-killing machine, in which case I’m probably not like you.)

So why in the world would some guy be driving across several states just to come film me?  Great question!  I am one of several hunters being featured on Huntography – a documentary about everyday deer hunters.

It is easy to complain about hunting shows on television, and we’ve probably all done it at one time or another.  But Huntography isn’t like your average show.  There are no celebrities, no guided hunts, and no big-money leases.  Huntography is a documentary about you, me, and a nation full of regular deer hunters.  You won’t see staged shots.  You won’t see anyone pass on a 150” buck on camera.  What you will see is a celebration of deer hunting from across the country.

Rudy, the man behind Huntography, is spending 21 days in November, traveling 4,000 miles across the country to film 11 hunters is 7 states.  Rudy takes all of his footage and weaves into one epic storyline about deer hunting across the country, which is then released as a DVD.

One of the coolest parts about the Huntography project is that you can follow the action live as it unfolds throughout November on the Huntography Blog, Facebook, and Twitter.
