It’s not even 2013 and a shed is already on the ground! Wired To Hunt reader Shawn Kelley sent us this picture of a fresh shed he found with blood still on it this past week. The antler was found in a turnip food plot, next to a corn feeder, where the buck apparently knocked the antler off while trying to get a little grub.

That said, have any of you ever found or heard of a shed found this early? Whenever I’ve heard of bucks shedding particularly early it’s typically been due to an injury of sorts. So I’m wondering if that’s what caused this early drop.

I know we’ve got a good bit of hunting still ahead of us, but I gotta say, this has me pumped for shed hunting too!
