Every year the Quality Deer Management Association releases their version of a “State of the Union” type report, except it obviously focuses on the state of whitetails! Each and every year, I’ve found it to be a tremendous resource, full of interesting insights, research and reference points for avid whitetail hunters and managers. 2013 is no different. That said, this years’s report, titled the QDMA’s Whitetail Report 2013, is now available to download for free!

Included in this years report are updates on deer age/sex harvest trends by state, insight into the 2012 EHD outbreak, good news regarding hunter numbers on the rise, an in depth look at the issues around the captive deer industry, some helpful information regarding habitat improvement, and much more!

Over the coming days and weeks I’ll be sharing some of the more interesting items featured in the report here on Wired To Hunt! But if you want to take a look at the full report yourself, you can view it at the link below. It’s definitely worth checking out.
