I’m excited to introduce you all to the newest member of the Wired To Hunt Family, Dee Dee the Labrador Retriever! Wired To Hunt team members Ross and Kendal Hausmann picked up this beautiful pup over the weekend, with the goal of someday making her a shed hunting dog and I’d say she’s off to a pretty good start! Ross is claiming that she is already crazy for antlers and from looking at the pics, I’d say she looks like a natural.

Knowing the area of Iowa that Ross and Kendal frequent, I know that Dee Dee is going to have the opportunity to find a lot of sheds in the years to come and I’m excited to see how her training progresses in the coming months. Dee Dee definitely was “born” into the right family!

For those of you out there who are interested in someday getting a shed dog of your own, I can’t recommend it enough! Having my dog Booner shed hunting with me is an absolute blast and having a dog can definitely improve your shed count.

If you’re interested in learning more on how to train your dog to find antlers, I’d encourage you to check out the two articles linked below that detail how I’ve trained my dog over the past two years.

Otherwise, enjoy the pics of Dee Dee’s first encounters with antlers! And for good measure, I added a few pictures of my own shed hunting dog Booner when he was just a puppy seeing his first sheds! (I couldn’t resist! haha)
