Today we’re talking about buck fever. The dreaded rush of nerves that hits us when a buck approaches and a shot seems imminent.

We’ve all experienced buck fever at some point, and I’m sure many of us have had our hunting success hindered by this affliction. It’s just a reality of hunting. That said, today I’m going to share footage from a big buck encounter I had in 2013, and explain how I dealt with buck fever in that situation. It was one of the most intense encounters I’ve ever had, and I easily could have melted down. But I didn’t. If you follow the same process I did, I think you’ll find yourself better prepared to make the shot of your lifetime this fall too.
