Happy Friday folks!

In several hours I’m heading South, down into Ohio, to begin my 2014 work on our hunting property in the southern tier of the state. It’s an exciting time of year as stands get adjusted, cameras get hung, and hopes are high. Who knows what’s in store for this next season?

I hope you’ve got some projects lined up as well, because September and October are going to be here before we know it! In the meantime though, we’ve got some great whitetail reading for you too. Check out the blog posts below from across the whitetail web, have a great weekend, and stay wired to hunt!

Deer Management Has Changed in the Last 25 Years – Bowhunter: Some interesting insight into how management of whitetails has changed over the years, and the argument for the need to be involved in an organization that is helping drive management in the the right direction for the future.

Another Whitetail Celeb Bites the Dust: Marc Anthony Accused of Faking Kill – Whitetail 365: I refrained from posting about this so far, as I’ve been hoping this didn’t have any truth behind it. But the more I hear and see, the less likely that looks to be the case. Innocent until proven guilty, but it’s looking like Marc Anthony – one of the more well known writers/accomplished whitetail hunters out there has been caught faking a buck.

ATV vs. Compact Tractor for Food Plots – Brow Tines and Backstrap: The argument is made between using a tractor or a ATV for food plot work, and some solid points are brought to the table.

Winke: How-to Develop an Effective Trail Camera Strategy – Petersen’s Bowhunting: Bill Winke shares his strategies for using trail cameras – something that should be very applicable to all of us here very soon. My first trail cameras of the summer are going out tomorrow!

Chicken Fried Venison Recipe – North American Whitetail: A tasty looking recipe for venison this weekend.

The Quest for Big Jr. – Midwest Whitetail: Bill Winke shares his story with a buck named Big Jr and his strategy for hunting him this fall.

The Wired To Hunt Podcast – Episode #7: How Lee & Tiffany Lakosky Would Hunt If They Weren’t “Lee & Tiffany” : Just in case you missed it, here’s our latest podcast episode, feat Lee & Tiffany Lakosky. It’s definitely an interesting interview!
