Hey Ryan, I don’t think it is too late at all. In fact now may be one of the best times to shed hunt. As the snow is melting you’ll be able to find many sheds that might have been buried before. Good luck and let us know how you do!

I was hooked the cold, dark, november morning 14yrs ago. I remember it was my first time to deer hunt and it was during the rifle season here in Tennessee. I had borrowed the old rifle and there was a bet at work that I would come home empty handed. Back then I sat on the ground leaning up against a tree. I watched when the sun broke, frost form on my boot tips and crawl up my pants. I was thinking to myself,”they call this fun? Freezing my butt off”. What I didn’t know was the rut was going on. As soon as it got light, here come a doe running…..just a tad bit later, I heard some crashing through the brush, heavy panting. Kind a scared me as I didn’t know deer could be that noisy. Well, here he come trotting, nose to the ground. I got up on my knees for a broadside shot…..there he went, faster then I thought. I sat back down watching him run past me not even looking at me. I looked through the scope…NO!!! sun in my eyes!! I used the sights on the rifle and shot. The first shot took him down, but he was getting back up. So I shot again which finished him. My first buck, only a 5 pt. but he was my first. I was now hooked.

I just started shed hunting last week and I thinks its the greatest thing! I live in northern Massachuesetts and was wondering if I was to late in the season? Can any one help me with this?
