This abrupt punch, pull or yank can cause you to flinch just as you pull the trigger, resulting in a pulled shot and a missed deer. To combat this, it’s advised to slowly squeeze the trigger, resulting in a surprise when the gun goes off. This should keep you from subconsciously flinching before the shot and should result in a more accurate hit down range.
