By Mark Kenyon
One of my favorite deer hunting personalities to watch on TV is Mark Drury and I enjoy him for two reasons. Number one, he kills a lot of big deer – and believe it or not, I’m a fan of seeing big deer. Secondly, and most importantly though, this guy is a scientist when it comes to deer hunting. His attention to detail is meticulous, and the way he thinks through strategy and preparation for whitetails seems to be second to none
That said, it’s no surprise to me that he’s already got a giant on the ground this season.
On October 5th, Mark arrowed this absolute giant Iowa buck during an evening sit over a radish food plot. Mark explained that the key to this hunt was the green food source, the cold front hitting that day, and the fact that he had daylight trailcam pics of this buck.
This buck ended up being a 5 1/2 year old, and he scored 176 7/8″ !
