It’s back and better than ever. I’m speaking of #ShedRally of course! And this year’s date is now officially on calendar for Saturday, March 12, 2016.

If you’re not familiar, #ShedRally is a nationwide virtual “event” originally created by the folks at Whitetail Properties several years ago during which shed hunters across the country are encouraged to all go out shed hunting on the same day and then share their experiences and photos through social media using the #ShedRally hashtag.

The first two years of the event seemed to be wildly popular, with hundreds if not thousands of shed hunters participating, hitting the woods in search of bone, and sharing their success and good times online with the larger community. And I personally have had a great time getting out for the rally and tracking everyone else’s pictures, videos and updates throughout the day.

That said, this year’s iteration of the #ShedRally looks to be consistent with what we’ve seen to date. As mentioned already, March 12th is the day and I think because of that, we’re going to see our best #ShedRally results yet. The first two years of the Rally were marred by snowy conditions in many areas, being on March 1 and then March 7, and it resulted in tough shed hunting. But I think with this later date, we’re going to see much better conditions across the majority of states. If you do get out and then share creative photos or videos on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram using the #ShedRally hashtag, you will be eligible to win prizes from Whitetail properties, Realtree, Legendary Whitetails and our friends over at Hunterra Maps.

So if you’re not already planning on it, mark your calendars for March 12th and get out shed hunting. I hope to “see” you all there!
