In addition to shed hunting, one of the most important deer hunting tasks I’m completing at this time of year is scouting – both from home and in the field. And a big part of both those types of scouting is the use of maps.
This week on the podcast we’re going to dive deep into this topic of maps and how they can help you hunt, so today I wanted to share a little primer video that should prep you for our upcoming discussion. In our Video of the Day, Bill Winke of Midwest Whitetail shows us briefly how he uses aerial and topo maps to better understand how deer will use a property. If you’re not already familiar with the details of maps, pay attention to the basic concepts he shares, as we’ll be going deeper into all of this and more on Thursday!
