A Hunter’s Hard Choice to Follow a Blood Trail, or to Wait, and the Consequences – Big Buck Zone: Here’s a blog post that has stirred some serious controversy. Tony Hansen’s son shot a buck (with him in the tree as well – I think), but the deer did not immediately die and instead ran off. In the process of searching for the deer, Tony decided to not search the “sanctuary” on his property at all, for reasons he explains in this blog. Then, this spring, he found the deer dead, 10 yards into the sanctuary. The comments section is blowing up on this one, many angrily accusing Hansen of not doing enough to recover a dead animal.
