Here’s to the weekend and being one week closer to deer season! That said, this weekend I’m heading down to Ohio for a bit of deer prepwork and some turkey hunting too. Should be a blast.

Hopefully you’ve got some outdoor plans as well, but in the meantime, we’ve got you covered with our weekly round-up of the top hunting blog posts from across the web. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Episode #34 and Episode #33 – Meateater Podcast: Two of the best episodes I’ve heard yet of Steve Rinella’s Meateater Podcast. In Ep #34 Rinella is joined by leaders of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers to discuss topics such as the politics of conservation and the intrinsic value of wilderness. And then on Ep #33 Rinella is joined by Dan Flores to discuss the natural history of the “American Serengetti,” the history of buffalo and antelope, what caused the extinction 10,000 years ago of the great pleistocene animals such as mammoths, and much more. Fascinating stuff.
